Kapadokya, York – Catherine Greensmith writes

On a wet and windy 11 April a fairly large group of us – we didn’t quite beat our record of 19 at Ambiente in October – met at Kapadokya, a Turkish restaurant in York. This time we divided into two tables and swapped round for the dessert which allowed us to speak to more people. The food was traditional Turkish fare and very good, if somewhat spicy for some unaccustomed palates! As is often the case there was far too much of it so it felt a bit of a waste unless you were prepared to indulge in a bout of gluttony! It was lovely to see so many students mingle with the more seasoned translators and interpreters and at my table alone there must have been half a dozen different languages! Good food and good company in friendly surroundings, what more could we have asked for??!?
